IC Labs, LLC, is pleased to be able to offer a COVID-19 RT-PCR test that can provide same day results to Las Vegas and Henderson area residents and visitors.

This test utilizes technology currently considered the gold standard for COVID-19 testing with the convenience of same day results. Although no coronavirus test is 100% accurate, this test provides the highest level of accuracy. A negative result meets the requirements of almost every physician, medical facility, employer, airline, and destination.

Reasons to use this RT-PCR test instead of other tests that provides same day results, like our Rapid Antigen test include:

How RT-PCR Testing Works

1. Schedule your appointment.

Appointment availability varies by location and demand, but are generally available every 5-10 minutes between 9:00 AM and 5:00 on weekdays. Schedule your appointment below to see current availability.

2. Arrive on time to your appointment.

Arriving in a personal vehicle:

  • Park in one of the parking spaces designated with an orange cone.
  • Text your name and space number to the number on the orange cone.
  • Remain in your car. Someone from our team will come to your car to perform your test.

Arriving on foot or by Uber, Lyft or cab:

  • Enter lab.
  • Check in with a lab tech by giving them your name.

3. Receive results in about 45 minutes.

You may wait and we will provide a print out of the results in as little as 45 minutes or, if you choose to leave, test results are often available via email and our Patient Portal usually in about 45 minutes, but typically by the end of the day.

What It Is

The IC Labs COVID-19 RT-PCR Test – Same Day is a real time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction test that uses a sample taken from a nasal swab to detect the ribonucleic acid (RNA) from SARS-CoV-2, commonly known as the coronavirus.

It is also known as a molecular test and RT-PCR test.

If this diagnostic test is positive for COVID-19, it means that it has detected the virus’ genetic material and the person is CURRENTLY infected the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Once any of the infection is gone, the RNA disappears, and that test will be negative.

A positive test is considered very accurate, but it’s possible to be infected and have a negative RNA result. Testing less than five to six days after exposure to the corona virus is likely to produce a negative RNA result. No Covid-19 test is 100% accurate, so it’s important to follow Covid-19 guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, such as social distancing.

This test is suitable for humans of any age, including infants.

We utilize the Cepheid Xpert Xpress COVID-19 Assay or the Accula SARS-CoV-2 Test. These tests use multiplex reverse transcription technology and have been authorized by the FDA under an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for use by authorized laboratories.

What It Is Not

The IC Labs COVID-19 RT-PCR Test – Same Day is not an antibody test. It does not reveal if you have already been exposed to an infection by detecting the presence of antibodies in a person’s blood or serum. Antibody testing is not typically used to diagnose a current infection as it takes the body some time to produce antibodies.

We accept credit and debit cards for all tests. We do not accept health insurance for most services — including Medicaid and Medicare Advantage.
