This test provides fast, reliable results to guide effective care and treatment by utilizing PCR (polymerase chain reaction) technology which is currently considered the gold standard for pathogen testing with the convenience of same day results. It is the type of test typically conducted by healthcare providers and medical facilities. Although no pathogen test is 100% accurate, this test provides the highest level of accuracy.

Enter our lab at 1730 W Horizon Ridge Pkwy, Ste 100, Henderson, NV 89012 at your appointment time and give your name to our tech. Your test will begin shortly.
The lab tech will gently insert a soft, thin swab into your nostril for a few seconds to gather the sample. It may feel ticklish or slightly uncomfortable, cause your eyes to tear or cause you to cough, but it’s done in moments. No needles or blood work required.
You may wait and we will provide a print out of the results in as little as 30 minutes or, if you choose to leave, test results are often available via email and our Patient Portal in about 45 minutes, but typically by the end of the day.
The IC Labs Rapid 15-in-1 Respiratory Virus and Bacteria PCR Test is a polymerase chain reaction test that uses a sample taken from a nasopharyngeal swab for simultaneous, qualitative detection and identification of the ribonucleic acid (RNA) from the following viruses and bacteria:
If this rapid diagnostic test is positive for any of the viruses or bacteria listed above, it means that it has detected the virus’ or bacteria’s genetic material and the person is CURRENTLY infected with that virus or bacteria. Once the infection is gone, the RNA disappears, and that test will be negative. It is possible for more than one of these tests to be positive. This is known as a co-infection.
A positive test is considered very accurate, but it’s possible to be infected with any of these viruses or bacteria and have a negative RNA result. No test is 100% accurate, so it’s important to follow up with your physician if symptoms do not clear as expected.
A negative result may mean your symptoms were caused by a pathogen not included in the panel of tests or you have a condition not caused by a virus or bacteria.
This test is appropriate for humans of all ages, including infants, who exhibit symptoms primarily related to respiratory tract infections.
We utilize the BIOFIRE® SPOTFIRE® Respiratory Sore Throat (R/ST) Panel Assay.
The IC Labs Rapid 15-in-1 Respiratory Virus and Bacteria PCR Test is not an antibody test. It does not reveal if you have already been exposed to an infection by detecting the presence of antibodies in a person’s blood or serum. Antibody testing is not typically used to diagnose a current infection as it takes the body some time to produce antibodies. Although it can be performed in minutes, it is not a rapid antigen test.
It will not tell you how likely you are to catch or spread respiratory pathogens, or how serious your illness might be.
This test is not a respiratory infection culture. It does not test for Streptococcus dysgalactiae (Group C/G Strep) or Streptococcus pyogenes (Group A Strep). If you suspect strep throat, and are not concerned about whooping cough (Bordetella parapertussis or pertussis), consider our Rapid 15-in-1 Sore Throat Virus and Bacteria PCR Test.
